Tournament of Bands Region 13 Championship Returns to Fairmont State

The Fairmont State Falcon Marching Band will return to competition for the annual “Tournament of Bands” marching band competition at Fairmont State’s Duvall-Rosier Field on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 7p.m. The Tournament of Bands provides an opportunity for competitive and exhibition marching bands throughout the region to perform.

During the competition, several high school marching bands will perform in front of national judges for the Region 13 Championship, participants including Southern Garret High School, Buchannan-Upshur High School and Elkins High School.

“The Fairmont State Falcon Marching Band is so excited to have been able to return to live,in-person performances this season, and we are looking forward to hosting this wonderful event and hearing music by competitive high school marching bands from around West Virginia,” said Fairmont State University Director of Bands, Alyssa Schwartz. “Events such as this provide a valuable educational experience for young marching band members across the state, and we are grateful to President Martin, the Athletics Department and all our generous sponsors and donors for helping us with this project. We hope you will come join us for a lovely evening of music making.”

Event admission is $10, with tickets available for purchase at the gate or ahead of time by calling the box office at (304) 367-4240. Box office hours are Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
