Fairmont State University to welcome prospective students at Maroon & White Day

Oct 12, 2022

Fairmont State University will welcome prospective students at its fall Maroon & White Day on Saturday, October 15.

Fairmont State hosts students each fall and spring for its large-scale, on-campus open house where traditional and non-traditional students and their families are provided the opportunity to explore the University’s offerings.

“Hosting prospective students and their loved ones on campus allows us to guide them in their first steps of their college journey and provide answers to all the questions they may have,” said Fairmont State University Assistant Vice President of Enrollment and Student Life, Alicia Kalka. “Attending our fall visitation day will truly provide a glimpse into life on campus and allows students to begin preparing for their futures as Falcons.”

Check-in for the event begins at 9 a.m. in the Falcon Center. Guests can enjoy breakfast while waiting for the welcome message and introduction of the academic deans at 10 a.m. in Falcon Center Gym 1. Following introductions, Fairmont State University Interim President, Dianna Phillips, will provide the keynote address. A Parent and Student Panel will take place immediately following the keynote at 11 a.m.

Prospective students and their families will have the opportunity to participate in various activities throughout the day including an Academic and Student Organization Fair and campus tours. Information sessions will be held in the Falcon Center Conference Rooms highlighting nursing program offerings, the honors program, financial aid, housing, student wellness, among other areas.

“We’re thrilled to host prospective students and their families at our fall Maroon & White Day,” said Fairmont State University Director of Admissions, Summer Boggess. “This event affords prospective students and their families the opportunity to meet one-on-one with our faculty, staff, current students and other future Falcons, allowing for them to start making meaningful connections from the moment they step foot on campus.”
