Second Falcon Day of Giving Campaign Aims to Raise $250,000 in 24 Hours

Oct 28, 2020

The second annual Falcon Day of Giving will take place on Thursday, October 29. Alumni, friends and family will be given the opportunity to contribute to Fairmont State University by participating in a 24-hour campaign to raise $250,000 for the University.

“We would like to extend our thanks for the continuous support from our loyal donors and encourage participation in our second Falcon Day of Giving campaign,” said Julie Cryser, president of the Fairmont State Foundation. “All Falcon Day of Giving contributions will support academic units, programs, athletics and several projects throughout the year.”

Donors have contributed more than $140,000 to the Fairmont State Foundation in advance of October 29 to create matches and challenges for various programs, schools and athletics, some of which include the Academic Dollar for Dollar Match, Falcon Fund Greatest Needs Dollar for Dollar Match, Board of Governors Chairman’s Challenge, Foundation Board Chair’s Match and more.

Fairmont State University President Mirta M. Martin said, “The annual Day of Giving is a powerful fundraising program. When people can give directly to those programs and projects that are closest to their hearts, they know that their generous gifts will have real impact.”

Updates on total gifts received will be reported throughout the day on Fairmont State University and Fairmont State University Foundation social media platforms. In addition, highlights featuring interviews, special performances, challenges and donor shout outs will be available for viewing on social media during the 24-hour campaign.
