Fairmont State celebrates College Application Week
West Virginia's 13th annual College Application and Exploration Week will be held across the state from October 31-November 4, 2022. The annual campaign’s goal is to expand the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission’s (WVHEPC) efforts to raise the number of students pursuing postsecondary education.
“College Application Week allows students statewide to explore college options and promotes the idea of a college education being a realistic possibility for students,” said Fairmont State University Director of Admissions, Summer Boggess.
Throughout the week, Fairmont State admissions counselors will be visiting various high schools across West Virginia to answer commonly asked questions and help explain the application process. In addition, the University will be hosting over 175 students on campus for Fall Exploration Day on Tuesday, November 1. The event will provide future Falcons with the opportunity to explore academic programs, meet new friends and discover Fairmont State University’s scenic hilltop campus.
“Fairmont State is small enough that you won’t feel like a number, we’re going to know you by name and you’re going to feel a strong sense of community on campus,” said Vice President for Student Success, Ken Fettig. “But we are also large enough to have a lively campus with plenty of activities happening throughout the semester and a number of distinct programs you won’t find anywhere else.”
Fairmont State has established itself as an educational destination of choice through a demonstrated commitment to student success. Current applicants to Fairmont State University are eligible for admission without submitting ACT or SAT test results. In addition, Fairmont State students enjoy the opportunities offered by a comprehensive state university combined with the personal attention and campus atmosphere students would expect from a small, private school.
