FSU To Host Mountain State FIRST LEGO League Invitational

Jun 28, 2017

The Fairmont State University College of Science and Technology will host the Mountain State FIRST LEGO League Invitational Tournament July 7-9, 2017.

Forty teams from across the United States, as well as international teams from Canada, Brazil and Uruguay, are expected to attend the event. The competition is open to the public to watch robot games from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 8, and will continue from 9-10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 9, at the Falcon Center. There will be bonus robot game rounds from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.

Guided by adult coaches, FIRST LEGO League teams research a real-world problem such as food safety, recycling or energy, and are challenged to develop a solution. They also must design, build and program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology then compete on a table-top playing field.

Mountain State FIRST LEGO League Invitational Tournament is managed by the NASA Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Educator Resource Center, sponsored by the NASA Robotics Alliance, the Governor’s STEM Initiative and FIRST Robotics Competition team 2614 MARS, and is hosted by Fairmont State University. For more information, visit www.WVRoboticsAlliance.org.
