Behavioral Sciences to Host Alumni Showcase on Nov. 18

The Fairmont State University Department of Behavioral Sciences will host a 2015 Alumni Showcase on Wednesday, Nov. 18.

“This is the first time our department will have an event like this showcasing our Bachelor of Science alumni,” said Ann Shaver, Professor of Psychology.

The morning session from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the second floor Main Street area of the Falcon Center is open to all FSU students. Returning Behavioral Science alumni will be available at information tables to answer questions and provide program/agency information to all interested students. Alumni attending will represent such professional agencies as the following: Army National Guard; Children’s Home Society of West Virginia; West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals; MVA; Fairmont Youth Academies of West Virginia; United Summit Center; Genesis Youth Center; HOPE Inc.; Fairmont Regional Medical Center Department of Behavioral Medicine; Valley Health Care Systems; WVU Division of Equity, Diversion and Inclusion; FSU Counseling & Disability Services; CASA of Harrison and Marion Counties; Family Services of Harrison and Marion Counties; FSU’s MBA, Education and Criminal Justice Graduate Programs; WVU Social Work and Counseling Programs; and Marshall University’s School Psychology Program.

Junior and senior FSU students in the Department of Behavioral Sciences have been invited to attend a reception from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Falcon Center third floor conference rooms with the participating alumni, including a question and answer session beginning at 2 p.m.  “The question and answer session will include questions about graduate school concerns and advice for current students who hope to find employment in Behavioral Science fields,” Shaver said.
