Reception Dec. 7 to Honor JoAnn Lough
A reception to honor JoAnn Lough for her service to Fairmont State University and the community will be held Sunday, Dec. 7, at 5 p.m. in the reception area of the Ruth Ann Musick Library immediately following the Masquers/Town and Gown production of "Scrooge! The Musical."
The community is invited to help the School of Fine Arts honor JoAnn Lough for her extraordinary service. For additional information, contact Susan Bailey at (304) 367-4203. The reception is free and open to the public.
Performance dates and times for the musical "Scrooge!" are Dec. 4-6 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. in Wallman Hall. Tickets are available from the Box Office by calling (304) 367-4240.
Lough, a graduate of Fairmont State, taught speech and theatre for 55 years and was instrumental in the Town and Gown Theatre, community/college collaboration with has entertained area residents for over 40 years. She directed over 70 plays at Fairmont State including "Glass Menagerie," "The Diary of Anne Frank" and "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown." Lough served as the advisor to both Masquers, the student theatre organization, and Alpha Psi Omega, a national theatre honorary fraternity.
Since her retirement in 1997, Lough has remained active as the curator of the Masquers Archives and as a collaborator with Dr. Beth Newcome of Pierpont Community & Technical College in the perseveration of the Masquers Historical Costume Collection.
