Aviation Maintenance and Safety Seminars Set

Feb 05, 2008

Fairmont State University and the Federal Aviation Administration are sponsoring aviation maintenance and flight safety seminars at the Robert C. Byrd National Aerospace Education Center in Bridgeport.

The Fairmont State National Aerospace Education Center (NAEC) and the Federal Aviation Safety Team are sponsoring a free day of aviation safety training on Saturday, Feb. 16, starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. The program will be broken down into two segments. The maintenance seminar will be for all aviation maintenance technicians and will be an Inspection Authorization (IA) Renewal seminar. The pilot seminar will be under the Wings flight safety program.

The maintenance training will be conducted in hangar A and the pilot training will be held in classroom 103. Coffee and doughnuts will be available for a small donation in the morning, and a catered lunch will be offered at the center for a small expense at noon.

The training sessions will feature a multitude of experts in their field. The presentations will last 50 minutes with a 10 minute break between each session. An area will be set up for several vendors and employers from the local area.
