Sept. 17 Constitution Day Events Planned
In 2004, President George W. Bush signed a bill that designates each Sept. 17 as Constitution
                        Day. Fairmont State University plans to celebrate Constitution Day this year with
                        several events.
                        
                        	"The Constitution is the rock on which we stand. It provides the stability needed
                        for us to grow and develop as a people," said FSU President Dan Bradley.
                        
                        	The following events are planned at FSU for Sept. 17:
                        
                        	How Well Do you Know the Constitution Contest Dr. Gerald Bobango will be the moderator
                        for the contest. The person who answers the most questions correctly will win an IPod.
                        
                        	1-2 p.m.
                        
                        	Multi-media Room A, Ruth Ann Musick Library
                        
                        	Sign the Constitution Criminal Justice Honors students will have a table in the Falcon
                        Center to distribute booklets titled "The U.S. Constitution and Fascinating Facts
                        About It." Also at that table, students will be able to sign a copy of the Constitution.
                        
                        	11 a.m.-1 p.m.
                        
                        	Main Street, second floor, Falcon Center
                        
                        	"Key Constitutional Concepts" Three 20-minute movies produced by PJ Productions will
                        be shown. The movies, which are part of a series called "Key Constitutional Concepts,"
                        are on the topics "Creating a Constitution," "One Man Changes the Constitution" Gideon
                        v. Wainwright" and "Checks and Balances" Youngstown v. Sawyer."

                        	On the large video screen by the Nickel, second floor, Falcon Center
                        
                        	Display A display with information on the U.S. Constitution will be located in the
                        lobby of the Ruth Ann Musick Library.

                        	Preamble Challenge nEach residence hall will participate in a competition to see
                        which wing has the most residents who can recite the Preamble of the Constitution.
                        The winners will receive free pizza.

                        	"National Treasure" The 2004 movie starring Nicolas Cage, Diane Kruger, Sean Bean,
                        Jon Voight and Harvey Keitel will be shown in each residence hall. The fictional tale
                        is about the search for a treasure chest hidden by the Founding Fathers after the
                        Revolutionary War.
