Transforming the Postsecondary Experience

Fairmont State University has joined the Gardner Institute’s Transforming the Postsecondary Experience initiative. This national effort focuses on eliminating obstacles that impact student success, including family income, first‑generation status, and lack of support.

According to the press release, institutions participating in this initiative engage in a five‑year systemic redesign process to:

  • Close student performance gaps
  • Enhance teaching and learning practices
  • Promote student success

This partnership strengthens Fairmont State’s commitment to creating equitable, meaningful educational experiences for all students.

Curricular Analytics Community

Dedra Cobb will serve as Project Manager for Fairmont State’s partnership with the Gardner Institute. The first project in this initiative is the Curricular Analytics Community, which brings faculty and staff together to improve academic programs through:

  • Curricular analytics tools
  • Improvement science
  • Collaborative redesign

This work supports Fairmont State’s mission to strengthen academic programs and improve student success outcomes.

How This Partnership Benefits Fairmont State

Working with the Gardner Institute has been transformative. Their collaborative approach challenged us to think critically, align across divisions and keep students at the center of every decision. It’s more than a partnership — it’s a catalyst for meaningful change.
