The Falcon Center is open to everyone — students, faculty, staff, and the general public. Access to Campus Recreation areas is granted through membership. All currently enrolled Fairmont State students receive a Campus Recreation membership automatically through their Student Activities Fees at no additional cost.
Community members, FSU alumni, military and veterans, and senior citizens can purchase affordable memberships. View membership options and pricing.
Yes — your Falcon ID Card (students/faculty/staff), Community ID Card, or the Falcon Center App must be presented at the entrance on every visit. No ID, no entry. This is the only accepted method of verifying membership status. If you have lost your ID, you must obtain a replacement before you can use the facility.
The Falcon Center App allows members to access the facility using their mobile device in place of a physical ID card. Download the app at falconrec.fairmontstate.edu and log in using your existing FalconRec account. If you don't have an account yet, you can create one for free. Contact the front desk at 304-368-7222 if you need help linking your membership.
Memberships are available for students, faculty/staff, and community members, with options ranging from a single month to a full year. Discounts are available for FSU alumni, military and veterans, senior citizens, and Fairmont Field Club members.
To purchase a membership online, visit falconrec.fairmontstate.edu. You can also sign up in person at the Falcon Center front desk.
Anyone 16 and older may purchase a general guest pass — no sponsor required. Guest passes for children ages 4–15 require an accompanying adult sponsor. Family Swim Passes are also available for families visiting the pool together. For current pricing and availability, contact the front desk at 304-368-7222 or view guest pass details.
Yes. Lockers are available for daily use or semester/yearly rental. Daily lockers are free — locks are available for checkout at the front desk and must be removed at the end of each day. You may bring your own lock for daily use. Semester and yearly rentals include a combination lock.

Yes. Space reservations are available in various areas of the facility, though scheduled programs and drop-in recreation always take priority.

Yes — all basic group fitness classes are free to active members. Classes are offered daily and vary each semester. View the current group fitness schedule or stop by the Reception Desk for a printed copy.

Yes. Free equipment orientations are available to all active members. A member of the fitness team will walk you through the cardio equipment, strength machines, free weights, and stretching exercises. To schedule an orientation, stop by the Reception Desk or call 304-368-7222.

The Falcon Center aquatic center features a 4-lane, 25-yard lap pool with areas for both instruction and leisure swimming, a hot water spa, a sauna, and an outdoor sun deck. The pool is a multi-use, non-competition facility, so water temperatures are kept warmer to accommodate a range of users. Typical pool temperature is around 82–84°F depending on the programming scheduled that day.

Yes. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult through the front desk and must remain with an adult throughout their visit. Children 16 and older may use the facility independently. All swimmers must follow the Aquatic Rules & Policies.
Intramural sports are open to all currently enrolled Fairmont State students. Campus Recreation members from the community are also welcome to participate. View eligibility details and how to sign up on the Intramurals page.
There are no team or individual entry fees for intramural activities.

The intramural schedule varies each semester and includes both competitive leagues and casual drop-in events. Current offerings include 5v5 basketball, 3v3 basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball, pickleball, knockerball, and more.

Appropriate athletic attire is required in all recreation areas at all times. This includes a shirt and non-marking soled athletic shoes. The following are not permitted: ball caps with metal clasps, clothing with belts, buckles, or chains. Swimsuits and swim footwear are limited to the aquatics area.

Food and beverages purchased in any dining area must be consumed in that area. Water and sports drinks in non-glass, lidded bottles are permitted throughout the recreation facility. Tobacco and gum are not permitted in recreation areas.
Bicycles, skateboards, roller skates, and in-line skates are not permitted inside the Falcon Center. Pets are not permitted inside the building. The only exceptions are animals designated as guide, service, or emotional support animals with proper documentation.
Club Teams, RSOs, and other groups are permitted to post flyers on the second floor of the Falcon Center on our community bulliten boards. Handwritten signs are not permitted in the building. Signs may not be posted on exterior doors or windows.
Soliciting is not permitted inside the Falcon Center. Student organizations or outside groups wishing to conduct promotional activities or fundraising must reserve space by contacting Central Scheduling:
