TEAS Exam

The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a four part assesment consisting of reading, English, mathematics, and science. Students interested in admission to the College of Nursing must take the exam as part of admission requirements.

Remote

Students can register to take the TEAS exam directly through ATI with remote proctoring by using the "ATI Remote Proctor - Nursing" program. The experience is exactly the same as the exam given at Fairmont State: both are given on a computer. If needed, students can utilize the library's second and third floors or book a study room to ensure quiet, low-distraction testing environments. For help registering for a remote exam, including computer access, students should email lead@fairmontstate.edu. If students take the TEAS exam with ATI, you will need to manually send your scores to Fairmont State. To do this, after finishing the exam, click "My Results" and choose "Send Transcript."

In-Person

Students who prefer to take the exam in-person can do so by registering through ATI. Students will need to send their scores to Fairmont State after taking the exam. Should a student need a quiet location to take the test, current Fairmont State students can book a study room in the Fairmont State library. Any test-taker can utilize the Marion County Public Library located on Adams Street, even without a library card.

At this time, the LEAD Center will not be offering TEAS exam sessions. Students can still book through Navigate to meet with a TEAS tutor, however.
