Rose Serves as Honorary Parade Marshal
The Grand Feature Parade of the 2012 West Virginia Three Rivers Festival kicked off
last evening in downtown Fairmont. Serving as honorary parade marshal was Fairmont
State President Maria Rose.
With participants from around the area, the parade allowed the Fairmont community
to celebrate all that makes Fairmont great.
The Orange Bowl Champion West Virginia University Mountaineer football team served
as parade marshals along with Mountaineer, Johnathan Kimble. Other participants included
Miss West Virginia 2011, Spenser Wempe, and Miss West Virginia Teen USA 2011, Elizabeth
Sabatino, of Morgantown. Serving as honor bands were East Fairmont Busy Bee Band &
Honeybees and the Fairmont Senior High School Polar Bear Marching Band.
A salute to our veterans began the parade and featured veterans from the past and
active military personnel.
