Sigma Pi Alumni Attend Reunion
Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Pi Fraternity, colonized in 1961, and chartered at
Fairmont State in 1963, celebrated its first ever reunion on June 5-7 at the Hideaway
Golf Course in West Milford.
More than 150 members from across the nation as far away as Washington, Alaska, California
and an active military man stationed in Iraq traveled to Clarksburg for the event.
Graduates from the 1960s to newly graduated members from 2002 began the activities
with a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game in Pittsburgh on June 5. Activities for June
6 included painting the bell on Fairmont State's campus with Chapter Advisor Jean
Ward and a kick-off party at the Holiday Inn in Clarksburg. The main event was June
7 at the Hideaway Golf Course in West Milford and included a golf tournament, a light
lunch and an evening BBQ dinner sponsored by JAWS BBQ.
A commemorative CD, "The Boys are Back in Town" with photos representing four decades
of brotherhood was given to each member attending the reunion. An informal get-together
and awards ceremony after dinner concluded the celebration.
