Governor Patrick Morrisey has issued a proclamation declaring a full-day holiday on Thursday July 3, 2025, for public employees in addition to the July 4 holiday. Fairmont State University will re-open on Monday, July 7 and will be back to the summer compressed schedule of 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Friday.

Wind & African Ensembles Concert Tonight

The Wind Ensemble, the Percussion and African Ensembles will perform a joint holiday concert on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 8 p.m. in the Turley Center Ballroom. The Wind Ensemble will perform holiday favorites such as Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride,” among others. The Percussion and African Ensemble, under the direction of Matthew Schoonmaker, Adjunct Professor of Music and Assistant Director of Bands, will perform both traditional percussion ensemble arrangements and African pieces.
