The Dance Team is a Club Sport that falls under the Department of Intramurals & Club Sports at Fairmont State University. The purpose of the Dance Team is to foster an exciting and enthusiastic atmosphere in support of Fairmont State's intercollegiate athletics as well as participating in various off-campus functions. The Dance Team also represents Fairmont State University by participating in collegiate-level dance competitions each spring.

The team shows their support by performing routines to encourage crowd attention on the court, to help foster an exciting and enthusiastic atmosphere alongside the cheerleaders at men's and women's home basketball and football games and other various institution and community events.

The Dance Team performs jazz and pom style routines for sporting events and prepares other styles (such as lyrical, contemporary, tap, and hip hop) on a small group basis for competitions. The team practices 3 days a week on routines as well as technique and strength training.

Auditions for each season are held at the end of the spring semester and beginning of fall semester of the following year.  All current full-time students enrolled in Fairmont State University are eligible to tryout and students must have a cumulative gpa of 2.0 or greater. The season begins in August for football games, through winter for basketball, and ends in spring when competitions are complete.
