  • A VA Form 28-1900 needs to be submitted to the VA to apply for Vocational Rehabilitation benefits. You must have 20% or greater service-connected disability rating to be eligible for CH 31 benefits. Veterans are eligible for priority registration.

• VA Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
  • Once you submit the VA Form 28-1900 you will be contacted by a VA Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, who will set up an appointment to review your request. If you are approved to receive the CH 31 benefits, the VA Counselor will send an Authorization Certificate -VA Form 28-1905 - to the Veteran Certifying Official. The VA Counselor will set up follow up appointments as needed.
• Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) – E-5 w/dependents/26554 Zip Code
  • To be eligible to receive your full BAH you must be enrolled fulltime. At FSU 12 hours, is fulltime during the fall and spring semesters and 4 hours is fulltime during summer sessions. If you take all online classes you will only receive half of your BAH - at least one of your classes must be on campus for you to be considered full time. The BAH payment will be sent directly to you.
• Tuition, Fees, and books
  • 100% of your tuition and fees are covered. Books and supplies can be purchased through an account at the campus book store. This account has a $700.00 cap set for books and a $50.00 cap set for supplies. If your books cost more than the allotted $700.00 you need to advise your counselor and they will make adjustments as needed. Any other special supplies must be approved by your VA counselor. Room and Board is not covered under CH 31.
