Rustic Mechanicals Return to Fairmont State Oct. 1 with Macbeth

Fairmont State University will once again welcome The Rustic Mechanicals as they bring Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy Macbeth to campus as part of their 2025 Vaulting Ambition Tour. A beloved stop on every tour, Fairmont State is thrilled to host West Virginia’s only traveling Shakespeare troupe, which has been performing the classics since its founding in 2014.

Call for Applicants: Fairmont State Commissions New Performances Inspired by Tradition at the Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center

Fairmont State University has received funding from Mid Atlantic Arts to launch Accessing the Archives: New Works and Old Traditions at the Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center. Fairmont State Launches Campaign to Honor JoAnn Lough

The Fairmont State community lost a valued friend with the passing of JoAnn Lough on Jan. 2, 2024. She was 93. Lough taught theater at Fairmont State University where she introduced countless students to the diverse and colorful world of the performing arts. By insisting on the highest standards, Lough earned respect and admiration from students, many of whom returned to visit long after their graduation.
