Information Technology Commons

The Information Technology Commons (or just the “Tech Commons” for short) is the division of the Office of Information Technology that deals directly with the campus community.

We are located in room 139 of the Library and offer a variety of services specific to the students, faculty, and staff of Fairmont State University.

From our Help Desk, we offer telephone, email, walk-in, and live chat support to assist the campus community. Please see below for our contact information and current hours of operation.

The Help Desk staff can help remove malware from your personally owned computers, assist getting your devices (computers as well tablets and smartphones) connected to our network, and many other services.

Unfortunately, we do not have the facilities to repair your personal hardware, but we will assist you in diagnosing your problems and provide you with all your options.

Fall/Spring Term Hours

Monday - Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Sunday: 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Summer Hours

Saturdays and Sundays, beginning May 11th: closed
May 13th to May 31st: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
June 3rd to August 2nd: Monday - Thursday, 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Fridays, 7:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
August 5th to August 16th: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, August 18th: resume regular term hours
