Security of Campus Facilities Impact

Security of Campus Facilities

Campus facilities are secured at the end of each day's activities. Only faculty, staff, and students with proper authorization are permitted in facilities after they are secured.

Police Officers and Building Services Workers maintain surveillance over building security.

There are five residence halls on campus. Throughout the day, each hall's main entrance is monitored by a Residence Director, Resident Assistants (RAs), and hall monitors. At 8:00 p.m., all exterior entrance doors to the residence halls are locked.  The main entrances are secured at midnight and all fire doors are checked for blocked or opened doors.  The doors are also configured with alarms that sound if they are opened, thus alerting the RAs and hall monitors as well as residents that security may be compromised.
