FSU to Host WVHEPC GlobalWV Training and Networking Event

The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission and the Fairmont State University Office of International Student Services will sponsor the third GlobalWV Training and Networking Event on Thursday, April 10, at Fairmont State.

The themes of the event, which is also supported by the FSU Office of the Provost, are international student retention strategies and financing for nontraditional student study abroad. All colleges and universities across the state are invited to participate in the free event, which will take place in the Falcon Center third floor conference center.

A networking lunch will begin the event from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Dr. Grace Atebe, Assistant Director of the Office of International Students and Scholars at West Virginia University, will present a talk on the  “Best Practices and Strategies for Retaining International Students” from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. A live webinar conducted by NAFSA will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m., with a discussion following from 4:30 to 5 p.m.
