Fairmont State University Students and Faculty Shine at Forensics Conference

Five Forensic Science students from Fairmont State University, along with their professor Kristy Henson, attended the annual meeting of the Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists (NEAFS). The participating students included McKenzie Lamm (Stonewood, WV), Jay Bow (Dexter, MI), Katie Long (Hamlin, WV), Jayleigh Payne (Grafton, WV), and Cody Barnes (Shinnston, WV). Among them, Lamm, Bow, Long, and Henson presented their research, showcasing the innovative work being done at Fairmont State.

Fairmont State University Receives $19,742 Grant to Advance Exercise Science Curriculum and Research

Fairmont State University has received $19,742 through the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission’s Science, Technology, and Research (STaR) Instrumentation Grant to enhance its exercise science curriculum and research efforts. The grant will fund the purchase of a wireless electromyography (EMG) system and a nerve stimulation unit for the Health and Human Performance Department.
