Committees Impact

Committees

The Staff Council offers a variety of committees that assist the Council in fulfilling its mission. Committee membership is open to any and all staff members and is a great way to get more involved and to help make a difference. We have both standing committees, which are detailed below, as well as ad-hoc committees that are created and exist when needed. If you would like to serve on a committee just let us know at Staff.Council@fairmontstate.edu.

Election Committee

The Election Committee, working with the Council’s designee, shall coordinate elections for the positions of the EEO Category Representatives and Alternates, Staff Council Chair, BOG Representative, and ACCE Representative.  The committee also ensures appropriate procedures are followed as outlined in the Staff Council Constitution and recommends changes to the Staff Council.

Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee will be responsible for creating opportunities to assist in fundraising for the Staff Council   content for surveys that will go out to all staff employees to get their input and opinions on a variety of issues and topics.

Scholarship Committee

The Scholarship Committee oversees the annual scholarships that the Staff Council awards staff members or their specific family members. There will be two separate scholarships, one for full-time enrollment and one for part-time enrollment. This committee will be responsible for determing the amounts and the recipients.

Staff Development & Awards Committee

The Staff Development & Awards Committee shall sponsor, or assist the institution with the promotion and coordination of, staff professional development and educational opportunities to heighten the professional level and effectiveness of staff employees in their assigned duties. The committee is also responsible for offering programming and events to enhance the personal development and morale of the staff.

Wellness Committee

The Wellness Committee will encourage the personal and professional productivity of all employees, as well as their physical and mental well-being, through health intervention. The mission of the Wellness Committee shall be to foster a culture that supports anyone’s desire to make positive lifestyle choices, and encourage prioritizing the health and wellness of the campus community.
