Orientation Fairmont State University | Welcome to the Falcon Family | On-Campus Welcome Wednesday & Online Registration

Register for New Student Orientation

As a new Fairmont State University student, you are required to attend New Student Orientation. You may attend an in-person, on-campus Welcome Wednesday Orientation or a virtual, online Orientation. Register using the links below.

Orientation is Required

New Student Orientation is where you will officially become a student at Fairmont State University. This program will introduce you to our campus, services, programs, and academics. Additionally, New Student Orientation is where you will get your Fall class schedule.

Should I choose On-Campus or Online?

That’s up to you! We’ve created robust in-person and virtual orientation experiences to meet the needs of all our future Falcons. We have to admit, though, we’d love to see you in person, if possible – that way you get a sneak preview of what campus is like, and you can even ‘pre-walk' your daily schedule to get an idea of what your day might be like.

Welcome Wednesdays

Our cozy, hilltop campus has reopened to the community, so we are offering Welcome Wednesdays – in-person, on-campus orientations for new students enrolling for Fall 2021. These orientations will be every Wednesday from June 23 through August 4, including an Evening Orientation on July 21 that starts at 4:30 p.m.

Online Orientation

Students who cannot attend one of the in-person Welcome Wednesday events must register for one of our online New Student Orientation events. We’ve packed all the information you would normally get during a Welcome Wednesday into several online sessions.

If I come to Welcome Wednesday on campus, can my family come?

Each student attending is allowed to bring two family members/guests for Welcome Wednesday orientation days.

What else do I need to do?

For a helpful reminder of the tasks you need to complete before the fall semester, download your New Student Checklist.
