To ensure the safety of our students, faculty and staff, the University (all campuses) will be closed on Tuesday, December 2.
The Falcon Center, including the cafeteria and campus recreation, will operate under regular business hours. The Ruth Ann Musick Library will be closed.
Some personnel necessary to the operation of the University, including those who work in the Physical Plant, Dining Services, the Falcon Center and Public Safety, are considered essential employees and are expected to report to work.
Students are advised to check Blackboard and campus e-mail for messages and/or assignments from faculty regarding their classes. Additional weather updates will be communicated through our emergency alert system, social media, and the University website.
For updates on athletic events, visit fightingfalcons.com. Today’s Athletic Affairs Committee will meet virtually at 1 p.m.

A majority of guests attending the Presidential Inauguration will be dressed in business attire. Students and alumni are invited to add their favorite Fairmont State piece of clothing that best represents their time on campus. This includes campus sports teams, Greek life, and student organizations. Event appropriate attire is encouraged.
Examples of business professional attire: When dressing business professional, you can wear tidy dresses, slacks, skirts, dark-colored suits and ties. Business professional tops include neat button-down shirts or blouses with a blazer. Business professional shoes include heels, loafers or flats.
The parking lot adjacent to President Davis’ home will be reserved for his out-of-town guests and by special invitation.
Guests are asked to park on the top deck of the parking garage. Parking volunteers will help direct traffic as needed. When the top deck is full, parking will then go to the lower levels of the parking garage. Overflow parking will be in the stone lot on Locust Ave. Shuttles will be available.
Faculty whose classes meet on the afternoon/evening of April 4th are encouraged to adjust their assignments. This will permit them to join their colleagues in the procession and their students to participate in the festivities that evening.
Faculty should be in the staging area (Falcon Center—Gym 2) by 3:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be available.
Staff attending the event may go directly to Gym 1 and be seated with the other guests. We recommend being seated by 3:40 p.m.
Yes! We are always looking for more volunteers. If interested, please register here.
