Application Impact

Application

The College of Nursing will review all qualified applicants after the priority deadline.  Students should expect to hear about their admission status approximately six weeks following the completion of the review of applicants.  Students may continue to apply after the priority admission date and applications will be reviewed as spots are available for admission or on the waiting list.

Students provisionally admitted into the program will receive information by e-mail regarding required next steps such as background checks, drug screening, immunizations, physical examinations, health insurance, CPR, etc.  Students must ensure submission and approval of all required documents prior to the term's application deadline.  If the submission requirements are not met the student may need to withdraw from the program and another student will be admitted in their place.

Applicant Scoring Sheet

The College of Nursing has developed a scoring sheet to assist us in selecting our admission cohort for the ASN and BSN program tracks.  We are providing this to you so that you can determine your approximate score.

Each state and territory have different professional licensure and certification requirements. The programs at Fairmont State University have been designed to meet relevant requirements for programs in the State of West Virginia. Students who are considering an academic program that may allow them to pursue professional licensure in their state or territory are strongly encouraged to check their states or territories to seek information and additional guidance before beginning a program outside of their state. Licensure requirements may include educational or degree requirements, professional examinations, background checks, work experience, character and fitness qualifications, fingerprinting, drug screening, and other requirements.
