Tickets are on sale now for the Fairmont State University Masquers student theatre organization production of Radium Girls (February 22-25) at the Wallman Hall Theater on the Fairmont State University campus.
Approximately 129 students from grades 3-12 will be competing in the Northcentral Regional Science and Engineering Fair in Fairmont State University’s Falcon Center Gym 1 on Saturday, February 10. The fair will run from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Fairmont State President Dr. Mike Davis and a delegation of students, faculty and staff visited the West Virginia State Capitol in Charleston on January 29. During the visit House representatives, senators and even Governor Jim Justice met with those visiting from the University to discuss important initiatives Fairmont State is taking for students and the community. To commemorate the day, January 29, 2024 was officially recognized as Fairmont State University Day at the West Virginia Legislature by the House and Senate.
The Frank and Jane Gabor Folklife Center will host the Robert Lackey Memorial Jam on Sunday, March 3 from 2-6 pm. The Folklife Center is located on Squibb Wilson Boulevard on the campus of Fairmont State University. This event is free and open to the public.
The Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center will be hosting a screening of the film King Coal at Fairmont State University’s Ruth Ann Musick Library on February 19 at 6 p.m. Co-producer and Fairmont State alumna Molly Born will be in attendance to participate in a post-film Q&A. The screening is free and open to students and community members.
New Fairmont State University President, Dr. Mike Davis, will make his inaugural visit to the West Virginia State Capitol along with more than 25 Fairmont State University students, faculty, alumni, and staff on Monday, January 29.
Back in August, the state of West Virginia was left in shock when Alderson Broaddus closed its doors permanently. Many students and employees were forced to relocate to different universities across the state.
