Self-Evaluation Tools

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health emergency or crisis, please contact campus security at (304) 367-4357, dial 911, or go to the nearest emergency room for immediate help.

Many of us experience periods of dissatisfaction, discomfort, or even unhappiness. College life with its often quickly changing and high demands, can trigger a variety of reactions. From getting used to living in a different environment, to adapting to new food, routines, and the new level of initiative that is required to be successful in college, changes can leave us disoriented and at a loss.

Times of turmoil, loss, and pain are a normal part of life, but it can be difficult to recognize the point at which we may need to seek additional help to effectively cope with life’s trials and tribulations.
