Sarah Pickett was born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia. She attended Riverside High School in Belle, West Virginia. She enrolled in Fairmont State University in the fall of 2010. After exploring a series of programs of study, she made her way to the School of Business, where she is majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Accounting. Her anticipated graduation is May 2015.
A Fairmont State University School of Business faculty member has been named the recipient for the Region 2 2014 ACBSP Teaching Excellence Award. The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) recognizes individuals annually from each of its 10 regions who exemplify teaching excellence in the classroom.

The Fairmont State University theatre students are making sense of Shakespeare’s language in a creative and colorful way. The production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” took many weeks of preparation and is certain to entertain.
Students in the Fairmont State School of Fine Arts Foundry and Sculpture Program participated with sculpture students and faculty from West Virginia University and Shepherd University in an iron pour at FSU.
Two English majors will represent Fairmont State University at the annual meeting of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honorary society. The convention will be held Feb. 26 through March 1 in Savannah, Ga.
