Equivalency Academy 2024

Training Dates: May 13th-May 24th, 2024

Our academy’s equivalency training program is designed to benefit conditionally hired officers who qualify and have been granted permission by the Law Enforcement Professional Standards (LEPS) Subcommittee to attend. The approved program fulfills the requirements for those officers who have relocated to West Virginia and possess a police officer certification from another jurisdiction or for those in-state officers who may have been out of the policing profession and desire to rejoin the policing profession.

Upon program completion, graduates will be qualified for certification as West Virginia Law Enforcement Officers, and be “job ready” for hire by municipal police and county sheriff’s departments.
