Graduate Students

Candidates for graduation must officially apply for graduation. The deadline to apply for graduation for spring and summer terms is February 1st. The deadline to apply for graduation for the fall semester is September 1st.

*Students graduating from the College of Science & Technology with an Associate’s degree will be charged a $25.00 graduation fee. If the student intends to continue with a BS degree, they must add that additional degree at the time of submitting the application, if they have not already done so. The fee for the Bachelor’s degree will remain the same, $50.00. Students receiving both degrees in the same semester will complete two graduation applications and pay a total of $75.00.

Undergraduate Students - $50.00

College of Science & Technology Associate Degrees - $25.00

A late fee for graduation will be accessed the day after the deadline to apply for graduation.

All accounts must be reconciled to zero dollars prior to the diploma being released. Failure to do so will result in your diploma being withheld.

Degree Audit Appointments

It is important to apply early or by the deadline for graduation and to complete your degree audit appointment to make sure that you are ready to graduate. PLEASE NOTE THAT APPOINTMENT TIMES ARE LIMITED AND DO FILL UP.

  • May 2017 graduates – schedule audit appointments August 30, 2016 – November 17, 2016
  • August/December 2017 graduates – schedule audit appointments January 24, 2017 – April 20, 2017 and July 5, 2017 – August 3, 2017

Commencement Information Notes

148th Commencement

  1. Caps and gowns are available for pick up with an I.D. in the campus bookstore. The bookstore will be open on Saturday, May 13th from 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
  2. Seating is limited. Each graduate is asked to limit their guests to 4. Early arrival is suggested. Reserving seats is prohibited.
  3. Handicapped parking is located in the lot between Pence Hall and the Feaster Center.
  4. There will be shuttle buses available the day of commencement for pick up and drop off to and from the Feaster Center. The shuttle stops are located at the
    1. Temporary Parking lots beside University Terrace Housing (under construction)
    2. Hunt Haught Hall parking lot
    3. Top deck of the Bryant Street parking garage. There is an elevator to take you to the top deck for pick up.
    4. Locust Avenue lot across Rt. 19 in front of the University
  5. Mandatory rehearsal begins at 9:00 a.m. on May 13th, in the Feaster Center. Graduates are required to check in to receive their Reader Card at 8:00 a.m. Graduates please park in the tennis court parking lot or the Prichard Hall lot.
  6. The first floor of the Feaster Center will be restricted at 12:45 in lieu of the processional and will have limited access during the entire ceremony. If you must leave or re-enter you will be asked to do so by the second floor entrance.
  7. All graduates are to be on their floors and lined up by 12:30 for the processional.
  8. Diplomas will be mailed after June 26th.




If you have not returned your Reader Card, you have until April 21 to turn it in to the Turley Student Services Center.  If we don't receive your Reader Card, you will be placed at the end of the processional line up!
