PRIVATE SWIMMING LESSONS

imageOne on one instruction by a certified lifeguard or water safety instructor or bring a friend for a semi private lesson. All participants must be at least 24 months or have taken swimming lessons without a parent before. Lessons will be scheduled around pool & instructor availability during recreational swim hours.

Levels

  • Beginner - See swim lesson levels 1 through 2
  • Intermediate - Advanced - See swim lesson levels 3 & 4.
  • Adult Training- The focus will depend on the swim level of the individuals in the class. Individual attention is used to enhance position in the water and to swim more
    effectively.

SWIMMING LESSON LEVEL DESCRIPTIONS

 

Level 1 Water Exploration:
The objective of Level 1 is to help students feel comfortable in the water and to enjoy the water safely.

Level 2 Primary Skills:
The objective of Level 2 is to give students success with fundamental skills. Students learn to float without support and to recover to a vertical position.

Level 3 Stroke Readiness:
The objective of Level 3 is to build on the skills in Level 2 by providing additional guided practice. The students will learn the front crawl and back crawl and will also be introduced to the elementary backstroke as well as the fundamentals of treading water. Successful completion of Level 2 is required.

Level 4 Stroke Development:
The objective of Level 4 is to develop confidence in the strokes learned thus far and to improve other aquatic skills. The breaststroke, sidestroke, and basic turning at the wall will be introduced. Successful completion of Level 3 is required.

Parent & Child Level A:
This class is for parents and their children who are 6 months to 2 years old and have either no water experience or one previous session of water adjustment lessons.

Parent & Child Level B:

This class is for parents and their children who

  • Are 18 months to 4 years old and have two or more previous session of water adjustment lessons, submerge only reluctantly (or not at all) or require flotation support at all times.
  • Are up to 5 years old and have little or not previous experience in water adjustment lessons, are reluctant to enter the water or submerge, requires floatation support at all times or may benet from parental presence and support in water.
