A Pierpont Community & Technical College faculty member will speak at Mansfield University in Mansfield, Pa., on Thursday, Oct. 8, as a Distinguished Lecturer in Criminal Justice. 

Dean Van Bibber, Full Professor of Criminal Justice, will give a presentation titled, "The Emergence of Homeland Security as a New Academic Discipline."

A Mansfield University alumnus, Van Bibber is a criminal justice faculty member at Pierpont with many years of police experience. He has been inducted into the National Police Hall of Fame as a "Silver Star" recipient.

Van Bibber will be spotlighted along with other outstanding graduates of Mansfield's criminal justice program, including a current U.S. probation officer, a warden of the Federal Correctional Complex at Allentown, Pa., and a current member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
