Pierpont Community & Technical College, through its partnership with Gatlin Education Services, has announced a new continuing education Online Career Training Department - Sustainable Energy and Going Green. A number of new "green" programs will empower students to advance or embark on new careers in the in-demand field of sustainable and green energy.
These courses were designed and developed to enable companies to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve their environmental sustainability goals and to increase green services that companies can offer to their customers. The courses being offered under this new department include Building Analyst Quick Start: BPI BA Certification, Senior Certified Sustainability Professional, Certified Indoor Air Quality Manager (CIAQM), Certified Green Supply Chain Professional, Certified Indoor Environmentalist (CIE), Biofuel Production Operations, Wind Energy Apprentice and Natural Gas Plant Operations.
While most of the courses are designed for professionals already in the field who are looking to upgrade and enhance their green skills, others are designed for those seeking skills that will allow them to be ready to step into entry-level green positions. The courses have been developed and written with nationally recognized building science experts and are full of scientific facts, interactive exercises, pictures, videos, graphics and text. Many are also recognized by North American Technician Excellence (NATE) and Building Performance Institute (BPI) for continuing education hours.
