Friends and fans of Nick Saban filled Fairmont State University's Colebank Hall on May 25 for a Marion County Chamber of Commerce event to welcome the legendary coach home to Marion County.
Nearly one hundred adult learners will be recognized for successful completion of their General Educational Development (GED) certificates at the Marion County Adult and Community Education Center (MCACEC) Graduation and Recognition Ceremony, June 3, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. The ceremony is being hosted by Pierpont Community & Technical College in the Turley Center Ballroom. The public is welcome to attend.
Bo Sellers, Professional Development Coordinator for Pierpont Community & Technical College, is participating in the Community Development Institute East (CDI East), one of five such institutes held throughout the United States. This month he completed the first in a series of specialized training sessions in community development.
Dr. Rosemarie Romesburg, Dean of Pierpont Community & Technical College's School of Health Careers and Director of Pierpont's Medical Laboratory Technology program has been named a Distinguished Alumna by the University of Pittsburgh's School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.

Beginning this fall, Pierpont Community & Technical College students will have an additional option for getting textbooks. The campus bookstore will be offering a new textbook rental program.
Lyla Grandstaff, Director of Off-Campus Programs North for Pierpont Community & Technical College has announced she is resigning to focus on developing and promoting her own business. Her last official day will be Friday, May 14th.
Students who have completed their work and met the requirements to earn their degrees from Pierpont Community & Technical College this semester will be marking their achievement at Pierpont's 2010 Spring Commencement exercises, Friday, May 14, 2010. Approximately 100 of the 240 eligible students plan to participate in the ceremony which will be held in the Feaster Center on Pierpont's main campus in Fairmont beginning at 6:30 p.m. A reception will immediately follow the ceremony.
Community members and colleagues gathered in Fairmont on Friday morning, May 7th, to honor Pierpont Community & Technical College President Blair Montgomery for his many years of service to the region. Montgomery will be retiring at the end of May after 36 years of service to Pierpont Community & Technical College and Fairmont State.
The 2009-2010 Academic Year is coming to a close, and Pierpont Community & Technical College has taken the opportunity to recognize faculty and staff for their excellence and to thank them for many years of service.
At the 2010 Academic Awards Banquet, held Friday, April 23, three faculty members were honored for their outstanding professionalism.
The 2010 "Dancing with the Faculty" competition was held April 28th in the Turley Center Ballroom. Faculty and staff from Pierpont Community & Technical College and Fairmont State University teamed up with students to compete.
Mr. Jeff Miller and his student partner, Jane Ryan, took first place: Technical in Precision as well as first place: Best in Show.
