Email and streaming server outage this weekend

    Fri, 07/11/2014 - 11:19am -- by Joanie Raisovich

IT will be performing important server maintenance this weekend, affecting the following two systems.

The streaming server will be unavailable from midnight tonight until Saturday at noon. The streaming server stores video and other media used in courses, so those will be unavailable during this period.

FSU email for faculty and staff will be unavailable from midnight Saturday night until noon on Sunday. You will not lose any email, but you will be unable to check email during this time. Student webmail will not be affected.

    Problems emailing students?

    Tue, 06/24/2014 - 10:15am -- by Joanie Raisovich

Update: If this solution doesn't resolve the problem, please contact the Teaching & Learning Commons for further assistance, x4810.

Some people have reported that they are getting bounced emails when emailing students.

The problem appears to be a cached contact issue. We made some changes on the mail server and the contact stored in Outlook is looking for the file we removed. We made this change to resolve other email issues, but this is a side-effect of that fix.
