What happens if I lose my ID Card or it gets stolen?
As soon as you realize that your ID Card is missing, please report it to the ID Card Office immediately. Your ID Card will be deactivated instantly to prevent any unauthorized use. There will be a $15 replacement fee to replace your ID Card.
If I change my name, do I need to pay for a replacement ID Card?
No. Name changes are free! However, you will need to make the change in Enrollment Services first, then come to the ID Card Office (it takes between 1-3 hours for the change to take effect).
My ID Card is faded, but there is no visible damage to the card. Do I need to pay for a replacement card?
No. As long as there is no damage to the card, a faded card will be replaced for free.
What if my ID Card is damaged?
If your card is damaged (i.e. cracked), please visit the ID Card Office to have a replacement card issued before using your card again. Please do not tape or glue your card back together, this will only cause more damage to your card and to the readers (swipes) or registers.
It is very important that you take care of your ID Card to ensure that it will always work appropriately. Also, please keep your card in a secure location away from other magnetic cards that may deactivate your ID Card.
Can I punch a hole in my ID Card?
No. It can cause the card to become defective. There will be a replacement fee to replace it.

How can I add Pre-Paid ID Dollars to my ID Card?
You can add money to your ID Card at Enrollment Services which is located in the Turley Student Services Center.
Once I add Pre-Paid ID Dollars, how long does it take for these funds to be applied to my ID Card so I can start using them?
If I put Pre-Paid ID Dollars on my ID Card, what happens at the end of the semester or year?
Pre-Paid ID Dollars roll over from term to term.
What happens to the Pre-Paid ID Dollars on my ID Card when I graduate or withdrawal?

Please visit the ID Card Office to check your balance. You cannot obtain your balance over the phone.
What is the difference between Flex Dollars and Pre-Paid ID Dollars?
Flex dollars are the “dollars” that are associated with the purchase of a meal plan (i.e. MP19). These “dollars” can ONLY be used at the Dining Hall, Nickel, Ciabattas, and Starbuck’s Coffee Shop. Flex dollars will be deleted from your ID Card at the end of semesters.

I am a current student; why does my ID card not work in the top or lower levels of the parking garage?
The top level of the parking garage is reserved for faculty, staff, and visitors ONLY. The lower levels are reserved for students.
Students that are registered for classes on the main campus, Gaston Caperton Center, and/or at the Robert C. Byrd Aerospace Center will have access to the lower levels of the parking garage. If the above is true, and your ID Card still does not work, please call or visit the ID Card Office at your earliest convenience.
*Students registered at other off-campus locations and/or with online courses ONLY will not have access rights to the parking garage – this is because a facility fee was not assessed. However, you can visit or call Enrollment Services to pay this fee so you can have access to the parking garage.
I am a current faculty/staff member and my ID Card is not working in the top level of the parking garage?
For your ID Card to be activated for parking access; you have to pay for parking either through payroll deduction or pay the amount in full. Also, you will need to have a valid decal. If the above is true and your ID card is still not working, please call or visit the ID Card Office at your earliest convenience.
I am a current student; why does my card not work in the Recreation Center?
Students that are registered for classes on the main campus will have access to the Recreation Center. If the above is true and your ID Card still does not work, please call or visit the ID Card Office at your earliest convenience.
*Students registered at off-campus locations and/or with online courses ONLY will not have access rights to the Recreation Center – this is because an activities fee was not assessed. However, you can visit or call Enrollment Services to pay this fee so you can have access to the Recreation Center or you have the option to join the Recreation Center at the student rate (visit the Falcon Center Reception Desk for further details).
I am a current employee; why does my ID Card not work in the Recreation Center?
For your ID Card to be activated for Recreation Center access; faculty and staff will have to purchase a membership. Memberships can be paid in full or through pay-roll deduction. Adjuncts do not have the option of payroll deduction.
If you have signed up for a membership and your ID Card is still not activated for access, please call or visit the ID Card Office at your earliest convenience.
Do I need valid photo ID to get a ID Card?
You will need to bring either a driver's license, state ID, military ID, or a passport for identity verification (a ID Card will not be issued without a valid form of photo identification).
