Important Information for the Fall 2007 Semester
- Fall 2007 classes are available in Vista. The classes and instructor assignments are current as of May 11.
- The tech folks will be doing another update on Monday Aug. 6 and will also import the students at that time.
- Real time integration will be turned on on Fri. Aug. 17.
- As in previous semesters, any section instructor changes, student enrollment changes, etc. are to be made in Banner.
- Changes made in Banner before Aug. 6 will be reflected in the Aug. 6 import to Vista.
- Changes made after Aug. 6 will not be reflected in Vista until Aug. 17 when integration is turned on.
- Students will be added to your sections on Aug. 6. HOWEVER, they will not have access to the class until the start date indicated in Banner (for most sections this is Aug. 20).
Section Template Information:
- To request that a section from a previous semester be turned into templates and applied to your Fall 2007 section(s) go to: /fs_users_only/vistadocs/course_migration.html and complete the request form. You will need to enter your UCA and password to access the form. Requests can take anywhere from 3-5. Please make your requests early to avoid the rush!
- If you have NEVER applied a template to your section you should either select the Master FSU Template or the template that was developed specifically for your course.
- If you go into your section for the first time and do not have an option to select a template but rather are automatically assigned a blank template (you won't see the FSU banner if this happens) please contact your faculty mentor or the LTC to build the template for you.
- If you assign the wrong template, you will need to complete the migration form to request the correct template be applied.
- NOTE: If you already have a template for a course, you do not need to request another one. You should only request a new template for a course if you have made significant changes since your last request. When you first go into a section, all available templates for that course will be available for you to select from.
- Remember that the code used to withdraw/delete a student from a section in Banner will determine what happens to their enrollment in Vista. Some codes will delete the students and some codes will deny them access.
|

- Finally, be reminded of a Vista "feature" related to multiple template assignments that removes the denied access status of students who should be denied access. Be VERY careful to assign the correct template the first time so that you do not have this problem.
I think that should bring everyone up-to-date. As always, please call LTC (367-4067) or email the LTC (ltc@fairmontstate.edu) with any questions or concerns.
