High-Stakes Testing Services
The Center for Workforce Education provides a secure, proctored environment where various tests for certification and licensing are administered. We have partnered with industry-leading computer based testing companies to provide a wide variety of in-demand tests. A few of the high-stakes tests listed are not scheduled here at the Center for Workforce Education, but through the individual testing vendor. Information on these testing services can be accessed through the following links or phone numbers.
ACT Certified Tests
ACT has over 100 assessment products. The most familiar is their national college-entrance testing program, but here at the Center for Workforce Education we proctor several specialized certificate bearing tests. We also manage their business solution product known as WorkKeys.
This group of tests includes some of the most prominent certifying boards in the nation. A few examples are ADA (American Dietetic Association), ASWB (Association of Social Work), BOC (Board of Certification for athletic trainers), NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology), NITC (National Inspection, Testing Certification Corporation), ABVM (American Board of Vascular Medicine), and ASE (National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence).
CLEP
The College-Level Examination Program allows students to gain college credit through exams in undergraduate college courses. For more CLEP details click the link to the right.

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)
Microsoft Office Specialist Certification is a globally recognized standard of computer software competency. Transportation Security Administration
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) was created in response to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The Transportation Screening Battery test is designed to select Transportation Security Officer candidates which will perform a variety of duties related to providing security and protection of air travelers, airports and aircraft.
Pearson VUE
The Pearson VUE advanced computer-based testing administers exams for leading IT certification programs such as Microsoft, CISCO Systems, CompTIA, and IBM among many other tests in a variety of other industry sectors.
TEAS Pre-Nursing Testing
Fairmont State University’s School of Nursing and Allied Health has made the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) test results part of the admission requirements for the Associate of Science in Nursing Program for all students applying for acceptance starting with the 2007 Fall Term. You register for the test date you want and pay for the TEAS test online here. To schedule a retake of the TEAS test select the date you want and pay for the retake TEAS test online here.
