Fairmont State Counts

Fairmont State University Counts is a free math tutoring program offered to students grades 4th thru 8th on the Fairmont State University campus. The program, sponsored by Fairmont State, is structured to concentrate on specific math difficulties students are experiencing and to help with math homework.

FSU Counts is supervised by Pam Kabulski, Marion County math teacher, and coordinated by Amy Drvar, Civic Engagement Coordinator.

Fairmont State student tutors, proficient in math, aid children in developing their math skills. The tutors work with a maximum of four children per group. Mrs. Kabulski is present to assist each tutor and student. She reports, "The students benefit greatly from the small group instruction and support they receive from their tutors."

The one hour / once a week sessions are held for eight weeks, during the fall and spring semesters.

Pre-registration is necessary for participation.
