Larry C. Allen holds his B.S.E.E. and M.S.E.E. degrees from West Virginia University. He also holds a Professional Engineer Certificate (PE). Previously he worked in industry as a Plant Engineer and taught in secondary schools of public education. He has been instrumental in updating the microcontroller classes to the current generation of microcontrollers, using the Parallax Basic Stamp. The ongoing effort to maintain national accreditation under ABET has also been one of his major endeavors.
There is a lot more to making something work in practice than just knowing the theory behind it.
Knowing that what we learn in class will actually be tested in the lab. They also get the opportunity to distinguish between software and hardware problems.
