Spring 2012 Campus Visitation Day
Saturday, March 24, 2012
Fairmont State University (in partnership with Pierpont Community & Technical College) will again host Campus Visitation Day Saturday, March 24th, 2012. Campus Visitation Day is held for students of all ages (and their families) who are deciding where to continue their education. Campus Visitation Day is a great opportunity for prospective students to check out both institutions and to get to know us better, in addition to our academic programs. While the event can be thought of much like an open house, a somewhat structured schedule is in place. Check-in for the event is slated to open at 8:30 a.m. in the Falcon Center and the program will commence promptly at 9:30 a.m. Depending on which sessions each student opts to participate in that afternoon, activities on the Fairmont campus can be expected to wrap up between 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Fairmont State University administrators will give a welcome, followed by an academic fair and other informative sessions. Those attending will have the opportunity to visit with faculty members and receive information on admissions, financial aid, veterans affairs, and housing. Special sessions will also be offered on topics such as student life and the honors program. And, a few of our academic programs will be specially showcased!
Campus and residence hall tours will also be offered throughout the afternoon. And, after a FREE lunch, guests will have an opportunity to tour select off-campus facilities (directions provided at check-out). Please note that a separate registration is required for off-campus tours and that attendees should plan to provide their own transportation.
Please note: we will be hosting a special session within Campus Visitation Day for adult students (25 years and older). This special adult track will include information pertinent to non-traditional students (specifics regarding financial aid, veteran’s information, available resources/services, off-campus/online classes, and much more). Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in the Academic Fair, enjoy a complimentary lunch, and have a tour of the main campus. If you are interested in participating in this special adult student track, please indicate so when RSVP-ing.
