General Information

  • In order to take Online courses you need to be admitted to Fairmont State.
  • For registration information and dates, please consult the Registrar's Calendar. Contact the registrar at 304.367.4141 for more information.
  • Each of the courses may require one to three on-campus meetings.
  • Students taking online courses are required to have reliable access to a computer and the Internet as well as a mastery of basic computer skills.
  • If you have any questions about individual courses contact the instructor for that course.
  • Unless otherwise stated by the instructor for your online course, you will have access to your course beginning the first day of classes for the term.

Accessing Online Courses

To access an online course,

  1. Go to: http://myCampus.fairmontstate.edu.
  2. Log in with your UCA and password.  If you have not done so already, you can activate your UCA here.
  3. In the Applications block on the top left side of the page, click on the Blackboard icon.
  4. Once you are logged on you will be at the My Institution page, where you will see links to your online courses.
  5. Select the hyperlink of the course name to access your course.

  • Taking an online class requires, among other things, that students be independent learners capable of meeting established deadlines. To learn more about the characteristics of successful online learners, click here.

  • Unless otherwise stated by the instructor for your online course, you will have access to your course content beginning the first day of the term.

Blackboard Learn 9.1

All online courses are administered through Blackboard Learn 9.1, which is a fully integrated, web-based virtual course environment, which is available to all students at Fairmont State. To access an online course,

  1. Go to: http://myCampus.fairmontstate.edu.
  2. Log in with your UCA and password.  If you have not done so already, you can activate your UCA here.
  3. In the Applications block on the top left side of the page, click on the Blackboard icon.
