Air Force ROTC courses are now available to full-time Fairmont State students at no additional cost. These courses are offered on the West Virginia University (WVU) campus in Morgantown in Stansbury Hall.
This is a great opportunity if you are interested in an Air Force career. There’s no military commitment for signing up for the courses unless you are awarded and accept a scholarship. If you complete the ROTC program you will be commissioned as a second lieutenant and go in the Air Force on active-duty.
There are over 30 career field areas available to USAF officers, including pilots, navigators, many disciplines of engineering, along with numerous others suited to virtually any undergraduate degree.
To sign up all you need to do is contact Air Force ROTC, Detachment 915 by phone at 304-293-5421 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Courses include Foundations of the United States Air Force, The Evolution of USAF Air and Space Power, Air Force Leadership Studies, and National Security Affairs and Preparation of Active Duty. You’ll learn valuable leadership and management skills along with having the opportunity to have a career as an Air Force officer.
Once in the program students can compete for scholarships in our In-College Scholarship Program. Some non-competitive scholarships are available for students in highly critical degree programs, such as nursing. Most Air Force ROTC scholarships provide full tuition and fees, a $300-500 per month stipend along with $900 per year for books
