Criminal Justice B.S. Program Outcomes
Students who complete the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree will be able to:
- Exhibit an understanding of the contemporary criminal justice system, its policies and practices, juvenile justice, victimology, and comparative justice systems.
- Demonstrate knowledge of law enforcement philosophies, and the structure, function and operation of law enforcement agencies.
- Demonstrate knowledge of correctional philosophies, and the structure, function and operation of corrections agencies.
- Demonstrate knowledge of legal philosophies, and the structure, function and operation of criminal courts and the adjudication process.
- Convey an understanding the distinctive responsibility for adherence to moral and ethical obligations inherent in the criminal justice professions.
- Exhibit an understanding of and the ability to apply criminological theories in explaining crime.
- Demonstrate the ability, through written and oral communication, to integrate knowledge acquired from core courses.
- Apply techniques of research methodology, writing and oral communication in the study of criminal justice.
