Fairmont State University hosts comprehensive daytime Orientation programs each summer for incoming freshmen, transfer and readmitted students who plan to take classes in the fall semester (late August - December term). During Orientation, incoming students consult with an academic advisor, schedule and register for classes, activate the student account, secure a photo ID card, and more. Evening Orientation programs are offered for adult and veteran students with busy schedules. A Family Orientation program is offered concurrently during each of these programs for parents and other guests.
Each newly admitted student will automatically receive an Orientation invitation by mail and email, which will offer instructions on how to RSVP for the program. It is important that students review the invitation thoroughly, as many details and 'to-do' items are outlined in the postal mail piece.
Orientation programs occur prior to each academic semester. For the convenience of those students enrolling in the fall semester, Orientation is offered at various times throughout the spring and summer months. Please check your postal mail and email for updated information.
