Admission to the associate of science nursing programs requiremnts - ASN & LPN-ASN

Starting July 1, 2013 admissions will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. The next admission class for the traditional ASN is fall 2014 and for the LPN-ASN class will be May 2014.

First Time College Students Who Graduated from High School Five Years Ago or Less:

  1. An overall 2.0 grade point average in high school or GED equivalent.
  2. An ACT composite score of 18 or SAT combined score of 870
  3. An ACT Math score of 19 (460 SAT) or a COMPASS Math score of 36
  4. An ACT English score of 18 (450 SAT) or a COMPASS English score of 71
  5. A Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) score of 50 on the Math and English components.
  6. A TEAS score of 60 on the Reading and Science components.
  7. A copy of your LPN license (if applicable)
  8. A copy of your LPN transcript (if applicable)

First Time College Students Who Graduated from High School More than Five Years Ago:

  1. An overall 2.0 grade point average in high school or GED equivalent.
  2. An ACT Math score of 19 (460 SAT) or a COMPASS Math score of 36
  3. An ACT English score of 18 (450 SAT) or a COMPASS English score of 71
  4. A Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) score of 50 on the Math and English components.
  5. A TEAS score of 60 on the Reading and Science components.
  6. A copy of your LPN license (if applicable)
  7. A copy of your LPN transcript (if applicable)

Transfer and Readmitted Students:

  1. An overall 2.0 grade point average on all college work taken.
  2. A Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) score of 50 on the Math and English components.
  3. A TEAS score of 60 on the Reading and Science components.
  4. The ability to take college level Math and English.  This requirement may be satisfied in the following ways:
    • Completion of all development Math and English courses.
    • The completion of college level Math and English courses.
    • An ACT Math score of 19 (460 SAT) or a COMPASS Math score of 36
    • An ACT English score of 18 (450 SAT) or a COMPASS English score of 71
  5. Note:  Transfer student who have completed less than 24 credit hours will also need to meet the following requirements:
    • An overall 2.0 grade point average in high school.
    • An ACT composite score of 18 or SAT combined score of 870
  6. A copy of your LPN license (if applicable)
  7. A copy of your LPN transcript (if applicable)      
  • NOTE:  TEAS scores are only valid if taken in the year you are applying.  In addition, you can only test twice in a calendar year. 
  • Students admitted to the program must submit a completed health form, criminal background check, immunization records, and CPR certification for final approval.
