ASN Slide Show - admission criteria and a little about our program.

General Information Regarding Admission to the ASN Nursing Programs

  • Applications are accepted starting August 22, 2016 8:00am in Turley Student Services Center for academic year 2017/2018.
  • An academic year consists of a fall and the immediately following spring term.
  • Admission is granted on a first-come, first-served basis once the application is complete and space is available.
  • TEAS scores are valid if taken within 24 months of the semester for which you are submitting an application.
  • You can only test twice in a calendar year.
  • Either TEAS V or ATI Teas tests are acceptable. The highest scores from each test are accepted.

The Traditional ASN Program

The Traditional ASN Program admits 48 students in the fall term and 48 students in the spring term of every academic year.

  • Students may apply for only one term (either fall or spring) within an academic year.
  • Students applying for the fall term after it is full will automatically be considered for the spring term as long as space is available. Once both the fall and spring terms are full, a wait list is created. Students must be eligible for admission to be placed on the wait list When space becomes available, students are moved into the first spot available (either fall or spring) regardless of the original term indicated on the application.
  • The wait list will be capped at 20 students. Once the waitlist is capped, students will no longer be reviewed for Nursing Program eligibility.
  • Students not moved from the wait list or those who do not make the wait list, must reapply for the next academic year.

The LPN to ASN Program

The LPN to RN Accelerated Program accepts 24 students each academic year and begins in the fall term only. Once the class is full, a wait list is created and eligible students are moved into spots as they become available. The wait list will be capped at 10 students. Once the waitlist is capped, students will no longer be reviewed Nursing Program eligibility. Students not moved from the wait list or those who do not make the wait list, must reappy for;the next ;academic year. The Weekend ASN Program will be started in spring 2017 and will accept 24 students. This program is for individuals who want to become an RN, but due to work or family commitments are not able to attend the Traditional ASN program. The classes will meet Friday evenings, all day Saturday and all day Sunday, every other weekend for six semesters. Semesters will run spring-fall- with summers off. Credit hours will range from 9-13 credits per semester. Once the class is full, a waitlist is created and eligible students are moved into spots as they are available.
