Graduate Programs and Certifications

The College of Education, Health and Human Performance offers two graduate degrees and two certificate-only programs:

MASTER OF ARTS IN TEACHING (MAT)

The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree is designed for college graduates with a Bachelors degree in liberal arts, fine arts, or professional  fields to attain initial teacher licensure in a secondary or comprehensive content field.

MASTER OF EDUCATION (M.Ed.)

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree includes five degree programs designed to meet the needs of college graduates seeking to enhance their career opportunities through advanced study.  Please view the links for information on individual programs.

M.Ed. programs leading to teacher certification include:

• M.Ed. in Multi-Categorical Special Education with Autism
• M.Ed. in Reading Specialist

M.Ed. programs designed to enhance the career and professional opportunities of candidates who are not seeking teacher certification include:

• M.Ed. in Digital Media, New Literacies and Learning
• M.Ed. in Educational Leadership
• M.Ed. in Exercise Science
• M.Ed. in Professional Studies

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

The certification programs are available for candidates who hold a valid teaching license.
