The beginnings of my aviation career came about while I was in high school in the late 1970’s. I joined the army during my senior year of high school hoping to one-day fly helicopters. One and a half years later, I completed Army flight training as a helicopter pilot. Since then I have made my living flying for the Army National Guard serving in three different states, Alaska, California and West Virginia. I also flew for four different airlines, three in Alaska and one in California.  In 1998, my family and I moved to West Virginia where I served as a Flight instructor for the Army National Guard at the Fixed Wing Training Site.  After retiring from the Army National Guard, I worked for FlightSafety International, at LaGuardia International airport in New York City as a flight simulator instructor.  At the beginning of 2016, I joined the aviation program here at Fairmont State University. I have been married for over 34 years and have two adult children and a grandson. Over the years, I have acquired an AA, Liberal Arts from Fresno City College and a BS in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College.
